Young Reckless Hearts new drop!
A few months ago I featured Young Reckless Hearts on the blog. YRH is a brand run by my friend Jen; is a fashion graduate from Leeds who was living in London but has recently moved back up north to work for Adidas and work on her brand more.
Jen’s first release with the brand was an embroidered tee which resembled designs from her graduate collection at uni featuring bones in the shape of a heart.
Drawing inspiration from brands like Billionaire Boys Club, Patta and Parra this new design lends itself well as a logo and an iconic image for the brand which I can see translated on to many garments. Starting for now on Unisex fit T-shirts in 2 colour ways of black and white with pink and yellow prints baring resemblance to cupcake icing in the detail of the script in a similar way to Ice Cream’s playful designs. By using a strong script but switching it up with a playful food element and bold colours YRH have managed to touch on a feminine / masculine twist in both print design and garment choice.
Jen used to work at A Number Of Names who do PR for the likes of Billionaire Boys Club and you can see her roots in this drop.
It’s nice to see quality and detail in a simple T-shirt design with strong unisex streetwear ethics.
They are available now for £25 online which I think is a great price considering most street wear brands with the same design detail RRP at around £35! Pick one up and support a new brand; limited numbers available!
