Pain by Haroshi @ Stolen Space Gallery; East London.
Running from 10th October to the 3rd November Haroshi’s ‘Pain’ exhibition is a must go to event! Running at Stolen Space Gallery at the bottom of Brick Lane in East London; this exhibition sheds a new light not only on art as a form but also in a totally different subject; how skateboarding can be perceived.
Did you ever wonder what happened to skateboards after they die? The tag line of the press release for the show says it all. Haroshi has been resurrecting old skateboards for over a decade. He uses the remains of broken down skateboards to create beautiful wooden sculptures.
This is Haroshi’s first solo exhibition and explores the subject of emotional pain and how it can be a great motivating force in the creation of art.
We had a great time at the opening night, and had our eyes wide open to the exceptional detail within each piece.
Be sure to head down and check it out yourself!
