Byron Bay in Australia plays host to eclectic clothing brand Afends who present us with their SS14 collection ‘Wasted Youth’ and ‘Teen Delinquents.’
Surrounded by mad and beautiful characters, beautiful landscapes, punk rockers, surf rats, hipsters and free spirits at Byron Bay; they have drawn inspiration from all the different personalities that surround them.
Offering a strong range of denim washes blended with graphic prints, timeless cuts and minimalist branding. Tees, knits, dresses, shorts, shirts, jackets, quality accessories and a strong headwear range make up the men’s and womenswear collection.
The look book itself is something of a little masterpiece. Printed on thick, quality, matt paper which gives it an artistic feel. Mixing studio and location shots in an exciting way though out the pages. The men’s and women’s pages correlate at the same time as standing their own ground with their own themes. Shot around Byron Bay on a mixture of high def cameras and Polaroids you get to feel the lifestyle of the brand, and experience the quality of the product.
I recently saw the collection at the Canoe Inc’ press day and fell a little bit in love with the cute women’s crops and sweaters, and the men’s shirts and hats.
