H&M and Acne halt Angora Production

According to reports by animal rights campaigners that rabbits are being abused in Chinese angora farms, Swedish fashion chain H&M has called a halt to the production of all angora products with immediate effect.

Plucking and skinning live rabbits have been reported in videos screened by animal rights activist PETA last week.

In 2013 is it necessary to harm animals to make great clothing? We can create man made fibres just as good, creating jobs in factories rather than these horrendous farms.

Any concerned customers who would like to return an angora item they have purchased will receive a full refund at H&M. Fellow Scandinavian label Acne has also just pulled its angora products. It remains to be seen whether other global chains or fashion labels decide to follow suit.
