LFW: Central Saint Martins AW14/15

The first day of London Fashion Week is always all engines and this year alongside the chaos came horrible weather! Rain and wind accompanied the first day of shows; but the show must go on! And it did.

At the end of the first day Central Saint Martins showed their MA students work to the world in a huge showcase; and I dressed the show backstage. A big team of us backstage had to deal with 6 designers each and 2 models to dress and make sure their opening to the fashion world went seamlessly and honourably down the catwalk!

These are the 6 outfits I dressed; Micheal Powers being my highlight as he won the L’Oreal Professional Creative Award; a huge success as a new designer. His pieces contained 3D elements with tubed sections containing beads which moved within the compartments; weighing the garments down but creating an exciting aesthetic and flowing texture. His layered outfits and bucket shoes were unworldly but somehow he has managed to bring them into our world and make us want to keep them here.
Definitely a designer to keep an eye on!
