Festival Review: Giles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival
About 3 weeks ago now, I was laying on the beach soaking up the sun rays listening to some amazing music.
During the summer months I am usually in and out of the country doing festivals and I never have time to write about them because i’m always so rushed off me feet. So going forward i’ve decided to give you all an insight in to my travels/festivals i go to.
For those of you that haven’t heard of WWF it’s based in a small town called Sete, near Montpellier in the South of France.
Not like the usual 4 day weekend festival, this festival runs for 7 full days! So you need to be mentally and physically prepared! Sun, and alcohol for a week day and night can be tiring haha 😛
It’s really nice the way the festival is set up, and the location is unbeatable! The first 3 days the festival is at the Theatre de la Mer, which is an amazing old brick theatre on the sea. It’s pretty chill for the first half of the night, then later on the bottom opens up for everyone to come down from the tiered seating and dance! It’s such a sick vibe and nice to be somewhere different.
The official beach parties start when the main festival starts, which is on the Thursday. It means the first half of the week in the daytime you can catch that tan you’re longing for all year round!
The main festival is re-located to an area around the massive lighthouse. It is a much bigger space but it has some cool spots to sit and chill with nice food dotted about and fairy lights everywhere 🙂
The music is so diverse, which is what I love about it. Giles Peterson always brings such an eclectic mix of DJ’s, singers and bands.
The best thing about the festival is that in the day and in the night, there is only one venue. So there aren’t any music clashes and it’s easy to find your friends. It’s nice keeping everyone together!
Another point to mention is the wine taps in the supermarkets. You can bring a litre bottle to the supermarket and fill it up with rose, white or red wine for 1.5-2 euros!!! Such a cheeky little daytime motive 🙂
I had an amazing time. Good vibes and good people. I saw some old friends, met new ones, and strengthened current friendships. The views are amazing, there’s nothing really to fault. It’s my second time going and i’d definitely go again!
Worth checking out!
