SS/17 sees the brand experiment with bold and colourful prints of Californian Palm Springs, archive catalogue covers and campaigns and a rework of their infamous all-over logo print reinventing the Champion full-script into a timeless repeat box logo.
In addition to the classic main line, Champion introduces their ‘PP Spray’ sub-collection for the first time; core pieces garment dyed and manually sprayed using a technique that gives a worn, vintage effect much like the archive sweatshirts from the early 90’s. This runs alongside their new ‘Indigo’ line marked by the use of a homonymous dying technique lends the basic products a certain richness. The dying process ensures an effect where the products fade slowly after each wash.
We got to see these pieces in the flesh at the press day the other week. The prints are very different for what we know Champion to be, but it’s a fresh vibe for Summer 17. We are lovin’ the pink bomber!!!
