New York: Layer Cake.
I recently got back from a trip to New York. (My first time visiting)
I underestimated how cold it was going to be, but luckily last minute I added a few extra layers.
I’m so fussy about holiday shots, and outfits looking boring or repeating due to lack of clothing, but this was necessary.
I brought with me 2 jackets, and a small daytime bomber jacket.
For those of you who are unsure how to layer, or even to wear coats/jackets as you think it makes your outfit “uncool” hopefully this will give you a bit of inspiration!
My main tip when travelling is “function over fashion” – always be cozy wherever you are!
I love wearing two piece tracksuits/outfits, especially printed and patterned ones. When you are layering it’s always nice as you can slightly unzip your jacket to reveal a bit of the pattern. (1st photo & last photo)
I also wear a lot of monochrome, that way it keeps the outfits simple and easy to look at/easy to wear.
I like to have different layers too. I’m all about baggy and oversized! So when I’m planning an outfit especially if my jackets are short, I’ll try to wear a long length t-shirt or jumper. (5th photo with the white jumper)
If you wear a lot of layers that are the same colour, its nice to have a base layer with a bold slogan or all over print to break up your outfit! (4th & 6th photo)
I love layering, and I love coats and hopefully this will help you guys when you’re stuck and cold, or lacking a little inspiration!!
